Ashis Nandy

Ashis Nandy serves as Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Engineering and Technology at Northern New Mexico College in Espanola, New Mexico. He joined the institution as an Assistant Professor in 2012 and received tenure with promotion to Associate Professor in 2018.

His academic credentials include:

• PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Pennsylvania State University (2012)
• MS in Aerospace Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, India
• BS in Mechanical Engineering from Jadavpur University, India

Dr. Nandy's research spans fluid-thermal sciences, mechanics, mechanical design, computer aided design, and engineering education, with publications in academic journals and conferences. His expertise is recognized through reviewer roles for ASME, ASEE, and NSF.

He has secured significant research funding as Principal Investigator for an NSF IUSE project and Co-Principal Investigator for an NSF S-STEM project. Additionally, Dr. Nandy serves as Program Evaluator for the Engineering Technology Accreditation Commission of ABET, contributing to national accreditation standards.
