Asher Marks, MD, is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics (Hematology/Oncology) at Yale School of Medicine and Director of Pediatric Neuro-Oncology and the Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) Cancer Program at Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital. His work focuses on improving outcomes for AYA patients with brain tumors and leveraging immersive technologies like virtual reality (VR) to enhance supportive care. He holds board certification in Pediatric Hematology-Oncology.

Research Interests: Dr. Marks investigates disparities in cancer care, innovative digital tools for patient engagement, and molecular diagnostics in pediatric brain tumors. He leads clinical trials addressing unmet needs in AYA oncology, including studies on targeted therapies and proton therapy outcomes.
Publications & Trials: His recent work includes studies on VR disinfection protocols, social determinant data integration in trials, and radiation necrosis in rare syndromes. He is Principal Investigator on trials evaluating novel therapies for gliomas and hematologic malignancies.
Awards: Recognized in the 2024 ‘Top Doctors’ List by Yale Medicine.
Clinical Contributions: Co-founded the Lauren Telesz/Smilow Teen Center to provide peer support for AYA cancer patients. Active in developing guidelines for XR applications in pediatric care and addressing infection control in NICUs.
