Arve Hansen

Arve Hansen is an Assistant Professor at the University of Agder within the Department of Pedagogy. With a background spanning 18 years as a kindergarten director and 5 years as a university lecturer, his work bridges practical experience and academic research.

Research Interests focus on kindergarten management, organizational development through a phenomenological lens, diversity and equality in educational contexts, and children’s play and discovery. His engagement in projects like Rekomp highlights his commitment to interdisciplinary regional competence development.

Recent publications emphasize co-creation of knowledge, systemic challenges in early childhood institutions, and gender equality. He co-hosts the mib podcast, addressing male representation in kindergartens.

Collaborations include contributions to edited volumes and regional educational initiatives. He leads research groups focused on kindergartens, childhood, and teacher education.
