Professor Arunangsu Chatterjee is the Dean of Digital Transformation and Professor of Digital Health and Education at the University of Leeds' School of Medicine, part of the Faculty of Medicine and Health. Previously, he held roles at Plymouth University, including Head of Digital Education. He is also a Visiting Professor at Peninsula Medical School and serves as Vice Chair/Non-Executive Director for the West Yorkshire Integrated Care Board.
Education: PhD, PCHE, MSc, BEng. Professional memberships include Fellowships with the Higher Education Academy and British Computer Society, and membership in the Association of Learning Technology (UK) and the Royal Society of Arts.
Research focuses on digital transformation in healthcare and education, healthy ageing, and innovation ecosystems. Key interests include digital technologies' role in healthcare/education sectors, decentralized technology adoption, and cultural impacts on tech solutions.
Recent work includes studies on health data sharing, sickle cell disorder patient perspectives, and nursing home digital solutions. Grants secured exceed £8M across topics like XR in healthcare, coastal community tech, and Parkinson’s symptom monitoring.
He supervises postgraduate researchers in Digital Health and eHealth. Teaching interests span digital transformation, technology-enhanced learning, health informatics, and human-computer interaction.
