معرفی
Arun Chavan is an Associate Research Scientist at the Yale School of Medicine, specializing in evolutionary developmental biology and reproductive physiology. He holds a PhD in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from Yale University (2018), an MSc in Biology from the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (2012), and a BSc in Biotechnology from Fergusson College (2009). His research focuses on the evolutionary origins of pregnancy mechanisms, maternal-fetal interactions, and the genetic basis of gestational duration. Key collaborators include Gunter Wagner, Akiko Iwasaki, and Albert Ko.
Chavan’s work bridges evolutionary biology and clinical research, particularly examining how ancestral inflammatory responses shaped modern pregnancy adaptations. His publications include studies on decidual cell evolution, SARS-CoV-2 impacts on pregnancy, and genetic factors influencing preterm birth. He contributes to interdisciplinary teams exploring tissue biology and translational medicine at Yale.
