Arturo Sanchez-Azofeifa is a Professor in the Department of Earth & Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Alberta's Faculty of Science. His research focuses on remote sensing of tropical dry forest environments, particularly their responses to climate change through studies of productivity, phenology, carbon and water fluxes, Leaf Area Index (LAI), and Photosynthetically Active Radiation (PAR) using advanced wireless sensor networks. He also investigates the integration of LiDAR and hyperspectral remote sensing data within the eScience paradigm, emphasizing data-driven scientific discovery.
