Dr. Paulina Johnson (Sîpihkokîsikowiskwêw) is an Assistant Professor in Sociology at the University of Alberta and a citizen of Samson Cree Nation. She serves as Co-Research Director at the Canadian Mountain Network, transitioning to Braiding Knowledges Canada in 2024. Her academic credentials include a BA in Anthropology/History (Alberta), and MA/PhD in Anthropology/History (Western University).
Research centers on Nêhiyaw intellectual traditions, Indigenous methodologies, and matriarchal resistance against colonial systems. Key themes include systemic injustice analysis, decolonial frameworks, and treaty relations.
