Arthur Weeber

Prof. Dr. Arthur Weeber is a part-time Full Professor (0.2 FTE) at Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) in the Photovoltaic Materials and Devices group, part of the Department of Electrical Sustainable Energy within the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science. He is also a lecturer in Solar Energy for the EUREC Master Renewable Energy program at Hanze University of Applied Sciences (~0.05 FTE). Prior to TU Delft, Weeber spent decades at the Energy Research Centre of the Netherlands (ECN), rising from scientist to senior manager and later senior scientist in solar energy, before joining TNO in 2015 as Program Manager Solar Energy.

He has coordinated large-scale national and international projects with academic and industry partners.

Weeber's publications highlight advancements in silicon solar cell architecture, passivating contacts, and energy yield modeling. Key themes include improving carrier selectivity, addressing degradation mechanisms, and integrating renewable energy systems.

Weeber serves on the Scientific Advisory Committee of the Institute for Solar Energy Hamelin (Germany) and chairs major conferences like SiliconPV. He contributes to journals and committees, including the editorial board of Solar Magazine and review panels for EUPVSEC and IEEE PVSC conferences.

He mentors students through his lectureship at Hanze University of Applied Sciences and participates in organizing workshops such as the SiNx workshop and nPV conferences.
