Arthur Dunham is a Professor of Biology at the University of Pennsylvania's School of Arts & Sciences. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan (1978). His research focuses on understanding complex ecological systems through theoretical models, particularly addressing climate change impacts, avian West Nile virus dynamics, ecological scaling relationships, and error propagation in ecological models. He collaborates on veterinary behavioral medicine projects involving predictive and genetic models for canine behavior.
Key research themes include physiological ecology interfaces with evolutionary and population biology, metabolic theory critiques, and agent-based modeling for disease spread. His work spans reptiles, birds, and mammals, with notable contributions to turtle population dynamics and dog behavioral genetics. Dunham has advised no current graduate students but maintains extensive collaborations across biological disciplines.
