Arthur Athanasiou

Arthur Athanasiou is an Adjunct Professor at La Trobe University's Law School and a partner at Thomson Geer specializing in taxation advisory and litigation. With over 25 years of experience, he focuses on SME taxation, trusts, Division 7A, high-wealth individuals, and tax dispute resolution with the Australian Taxation Office and State Revenue Office. He holds accreditation as a Tax Law Specialist from the Law Institute of Victoria and serves on the Industry Advisory Board of the IPA-Deakin University SME Research Centre.

His research examines tax compliance frameworks, legislative interpretation, and dispute resolution mechanisms, particularly concerning SME entities and family groups. Recent publications analyze evolving regulatory landscapes for tax advisers and promoter penalties.
