Artemis Saleh is a Researcher at the Institute for Ancient Studies (ifeas) at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. Since 2021, she has been a research associate and doctoral student at ifeas and a member of the RMU collaborative project CEDITRAA, focusing on representation and perception of queerness, womanhood, and spirituality in Lagos and Kinshasa media worlds through ethnological and linguistic frameworks.

Her research bridges interdisciplinary approaches to Nigerian comic books (pictorial semantics, perception analysis) with contemporary studies of African media representations. Current work examines intersections of cultural identity, gender dynamics, and spiritual narratives in West African visual communication.
