Dr. Reisinezhad specializes in environmental and resource economics, with research interests spanning Dutch disease phenomena, natural resource curse dynamics, carbon emissions analysis, deindustrialization processes, and income inequality impacts. His work integrates rigorous theoretical modeling with empirical validation to address critical policy challenges in resource-dependent economies.
His recent publications demonstrate a cohesive research trajectory examining how resource extraction drives environmental degradation and economic structural change. Key themes include the empirical validation of Dutch disease theory, the carbon curse mechanism linking extraction to emissions, and the distributional consequences of resource rents through luxury goods consumption. This body of work establishes significant connections between resource abundance, economic diversification failures, and sustainability challenges.
