Michael Visser is a CNRS Research Fellow affiliated with CREST, the joint research center of École Polytechnique and ENSAE Paris, and also with CRED at the University of Paris 2 Panthéon-Assas. He teaches at ENSAE Paris and is based at the Palaiseau campus (5 avenue Henry Le Chatelier, Office 4085).
He earned his PhD in economics from the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne and completed econometrics studies at the University of Amsterdam.
His research specializes in applied microeconometrics with core expertise in:

Current projects examine campaign spending effects in French legislative elections, wine price impacts from contest medals, productivity outcomes of auction-based wages, Paris Labor Court rulings, and viager contract survival analysis. His methodological approach integrates advanced econometric techniques with real-world economic phenomena.
Visser actively contributes to CREST's research ecosystem and maintains collaborative ties with CRED at the University of Paris 2, focusing on empirical applications across industrial organization and microeconomic policy domains.
