Aroussiak Gabrielian

Aroussiak Gabrielian is an Assistant Professor of Landscape Architecture + Urbanism at the University of Southern California School of Architecture and Affiliate Faculty at the School of Cinematic Arts. She holds a Ph.D. in Media Arts + Practice (USC), and dual M.Arch./M.L.Arch. degrees from the University of Pennsylvania. Her work bridges Landscape Architecture and Media Arts, focusing on materialist perspectives of landscape and speculative futures. Co-founder of foreground design agency, she explores ethical biodesign and trans-species solidarity through projects like Posthuman Habitats. She directs the Landscape Futures Lab, a climate innovation incubator, and teaches courses such as Biodesign: Animal Architecture and Media for Landscape Architecture.

Teaching and mentorship: Advises on Biodesign Challenge competitions, integrates student research into USC Architecture & Fine Arts Library’s bio-based material collections, and collaborates with institutions like the Biodesign Challenge and USC Libraries.
