Prof. Dr. Arnaud Triay is a faculty member at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich since September 2022, affiliated with the Department of Mathematics. His research focuses on the rigorous derivation of quantum mechanical models from first principles, particularly in systems with large numbers of particles such as Bose-Einstein condensates and fermionic systems. He works extensively with Partial Differential Equations (PDEs), spectral theory, and calculus of variations to analyze phenomena in many-body quantum mechanics.
- Research: Quantum systems, Bose-Einstein condensates, Gross-Pitaevskii and Bogoliubov theories, Thomas-Fermi and Dirac-Fock models, many-body interactions, and dimensional coupling effects.
- Projects: Collaborates on CRC TRR 352 (Mathematics of Many-Body Quantum Systems) and ANR MaBoP (Mathematical Analysis of the Bose Polaron).
Teaching: Offers courses in Partial Differential Equations and Calculus of Variations, with a focus on applications in quantum mechanics and physics.
- Current Roles: Professor at LMU Munich; leads the Working Group Analysis, Mathematical Physics and Numerics.
