Arnaud Huftier serves as Professor of French Literature at the University of Picardie Jules Verne and currently holds the position of Vice-President of the Board of Directors since October 2024, following his tenure as Vice-President for Culture, Initiative and Citizenship (2016-2024). He also occupies the Chair of Excellence in 'Tourism and Heritage Promotion' co-sponsored with CAPH since 2021, holding a PhD in Comparative Literature (2001) and research supervision accreditation from Paris Sorbonne (2015).
His research centers on literary dialogue in bilingual contexts (Belgium, Canada) and 'literatures of the imagination,' with extensive output including seven authored books on Dutch fantasy, Jean Ray, and Michel Tremblay; seventeen edited volumes covering Belgian detective fiction, Margaret Atwood, and narrative mobilities; six international conferences; and approximately eighty articles. As editor of the journal Otrante and member of four editorial boards, his work bridges literary theory, cultural studies, and transnational literature.
Major recognitions include the Grand Prix de l'imaginaire (2011) for his Jean Ray monograph, Fulbright Scholarship (2010), Canadian Government Research Grant (2009), and Belgian International Literary Influence Prize (2011), reflecting significant contributions to comparative literary studies and francophone cultural scholarship.
