Arsenal of the Arts: Arnab Chakladar is an Associate Professor of English at Carleton College since 2007, specializing in postcolonial and postmodern literature, South Asian cultural studies, and Bollywood cinema. He previously directed Carleton’s Asian Studies program and designed interdisciplinary off-campus programs blending literature, film, and experiential learning.
Teaching & Programs: Courses include contemporary South Asian literature, British colonial texts, and Caribbean fiction. In 2024 he led an innovative 10-week cross-cultural program exploring Mumbai and Seoul's film/ literature ecosystems, emphasizing comparative urban studies and geopolitical connections.
Interests: Focuses on transnational cultural narratives, modernity's intersection with tradition, and pedagogical innovations in humanities education. Advocates for immersive global learning experiences, citing transformative impacts on students and educators alike.
