Professor Armin Fuchs (born 1960 in Nuremberg) is a distinguished faculty member at the University of Music Würzburg, where he has taught piano, new piano music, and chamber music since 1986. An internationally recognized pianist and composer, he specializes in contemporary music with over 80 world premieres to his credit.
His performance career spans major cultural centers worldwide including Rome, Geneva, St. Petersburg, Warsaw, Salzburg, Vienna, and Bangkok. Notable collaborations include work with Sigune von Osten, Stefan Hussong, Markus Bellheim, and Keiko Harada. His interpretation of John Cage's 4'33" has garnered over 1.5 million YouTube views, and he appeared as the pianist 'Volker' in Edgar Reitz's award-winning film 'Die Zweite Heimat'.
Prof. Fuchs directs the Aikido Center Würzburg (since 2010) and has presented master classes internationally at institutions including Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, Mahidol University in Bangkok, and Franz Liszt University Weimar. His teaching philosophy emphasizes the physical dimension of music-making, integrating freedom, health, eutony, and natural movement as foundational elements.
