Arlene M. Correa

Dr. Arlene M. Correa serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery - Research within the Division of Surgery at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, TX. She joined the institution in July 2000 as a Statistical Analyst, advancing to Instructor in August 2001, Assistant Professor in September 2004, and Associate Professor in September 2011.

Her academic credentials include:

• Ph.D. in Biometry with minor in Epidemiology and Behavioral Sciences, The University of Texas Houston Health Science Center, School of Public Health

Dr. Correa's research centers on esophageal and lung cancer with specialized expertise in survival analysis methodologies. She has spearheaded the development, migration, and expansion of the department's clinical database infrastructure while creating multiple sub-set databases to support specialized research initiatives.

She provides critical statistical collaboration for faculty and fellows across research projects, significantly enhancing the department's analytical capabilities. Her database management contributions form the backbone of thoracic and cardiovascular surgical research at MD Anderson.
