Arlene Holmes-Henderson

Professor Arlene Holmes-Henderson is Professor of Classics Education and Public Policy at Durham University and Visiting Research Fellow at the Institute of Classical Studies (2022-2024). She leads Classics teacher training at Durham and researches classical pedagogy across educational and community settings. Her publications include Forward with Classics (2018) and Expanding Classics (2023), addressing access and innovation in classical education.

As Vice Chair of the Universities Policy Engagement Network, she promotes policy engagement with Arts and Humanities research. Her British Academy Innovation Fellowship (2022-2024) supports knowledge exchange projects on language, literacy, and educational equity.
