معرفی
Arlene Glasgow is a Senior Postdoctoral Research Scientist at the Gene Medicine Group, Nuffield Department of Clinical Sciences, University of Oxford. Her research focuses on pre-clinical models of interstitial lung diseases using gene editing and in vitro cell models.
- Education: PhD from Queen’s University Belfast (2010-15), postdoctoral training at Dublin City University (2015-17), and Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (2017-).
Research Interests include biological sex differences in respiratory diseases, mitochondrial DNA roles, novel lung epithelium models, and interactions between genetic variants and inflammatory/stress stimuli. Her work addresses lung diseases caused by genetic factors.
Scientific Awards:
- Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellowship
- Alpha-1 Foundation Postdoc Fellowship (US)
She has developed patient-derived iPSC 3D distal lung organoids ("alveolospheres") as a model for alveolar type II cells in alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency research.
