Dr. Arkadiy Lyakh is an Associate Professor in the Department of Physics at the University of Central Florida's College of Sciences, with affiliations in CREOL (The College of Optics and Photonics) and the NanoScience Technology Center.
His research centers on quantum cascade lasers (QCLs), focusing on high-efficiency devices for infrared spectroscopy and sensing. Innovations include tree-array QCLs, substrate-integrated designs, and applications in combustion diagnostics and hypersonic flow measurement.
Recent work explores degradation mechanisms in long-wave QCLs and beam quality optimization using multimode interference couplers.
