معرفی
Ariel Marcelo Goobar is a Professor of Physics at Stockholm University and holds leadership roles in multiple research initiatives. He is currently the Director of the EDUCATE Centre and the Oskar Klein Centre for Cosmoparticle Physics. His research focuses on observational cosmology, particularly using Type Ia supernovae to study cosmic expansion and dark energy. He is a key member of the Supernova Cosmology Project, which shared the 2007 Gruber Prize and the 2015 Breakthrough Prize in Fundamental Physics.
Education: PhD in Particle Physics (1992, Stockholm University), M.Sc. in Physics (1986, Stockholm University), B.Sc. (1985, University of Sussex). Docent in Physics (1996).
Research Interests: Gravitational lensing, supernova cosmology, dark energy, and gravitational waves. He leads projects like the Zwicky Transient Facility and the Large Synoptic Survey Telescope (LSST) Collaboration. Past work includes contributions to the AMANDA neutrino telescope and the DELPHI collaboration at CERN.
Awards: Multiple prestigious honors include the Gustafsson Prize (2004), membership in the Swedish Academy of Sciences (2016), and recognition for his role in the Nobel Prize-winning discovery of cosmic acceleration.
Labs/Teams: Active in the Oskar Klein Centre, EDUCATE Centre, and collaborations like the Supernova Cosmology Project. Current projects include studying gravitational wave electromagnetic counterparts and leading the GREAT research environment funded by the Swedish Research Council.
