Ariane Amado

Ariane Amado is a Part-Time Lecturer in Law at the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) and a researcher affiliated with the National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) at the University of Lille. She earned her PhD in Comparative Prison Law from the University of Paris Sorbonne, focusing on the legal framework of mothers and children in prison across France and England.

Her expertise lies in Prison Law and penal policies through a comparative lens, with a focus on France, Belgium, and the United Kingdom. She has contributed to research at the Centre d’Histoire judiciaire, a research center at the University of Lille.
