Ari Waldman is a Professor of Law at the University of California, Irvine School of Law, specializing in privacy law, technology policy, and LGBTQ+/queer studies. He holds a Ph.D. in sociology from Columbia University and a J.D. from Harvard Law School. His research focuses on the intersection of technology, law, and marginalized communities, with notable contributions to privacy governance, digital ethics, and queer legal history. He has authored influential books like *Privacy as Trust* (2018) and *Industry Unbound* (2021), and his work has been published in top-tier law reviews and journals.
Waldman’s accolades include being named one of the *Top 100 Legal Scholars of 2024* and a *Prospect UK Top 50 Thinker*.
