Arezoo Emdadi

Dr. Arezoo Emdadi serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Missouri University of Science and Technology. Her research employs analytical and numerical modeling to investigate material microstructure, processes, and properties across multiple scales, aiming to advance the design of engineered materials for specific applications and extreme environments.

Her educational qualifications are as follows:

Dr. Emdadi's research interests encompass computational material science, computational structural dynamics, finite element method, additive manufacturing, failure analysis, constitutive modeling for ceramics and metals, and phase-field modeling of various phenomena including crack propagation, solidification, microstructural evolution, phase transformation, and oxidation. Her interdisciplinary approach has led to collaborations across multiple departments and research centers.

She holds affiliations with the Materials Research Center (MRC), Kent D. Peaslee Steel Manufacturing Research Center (PSMRC), Center for Aerospace and Manufacturing Technologies (CAMT), High-Performance Computing Center (HPC), and Intelligent System Center (ISC) at Missouri S&T. Her research is supported by grants from the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR), and the Department of Energy (DOE).

Dr. Emdadi's professional experience includes an Assistant Professor position at Shahid Beheshti University (2012-2013), Postdoctoral Fellowships at Hong Kong Baptist University (2010-2011) and Missouri S&T (2019-2020), and work as a Structural Engineer at Moshanir Consultant Engineering Inc. (2006-2013).
