Dr. Arda Çelik is an Associate Professor in the Department of Animal Science at Bursa Uludağ University's Faculty of Agriculture, specializing in Feeds and Animal Nutrition. With over 147 publications indexed in Web of Science and an h-index of 11, his research has made significant contributions to poultry science and animal nutrition. He has held various academic positions since 2011, progressing from Research Assistant to his current role as Associate Professor.
His educational background includes a Doctorate (2014-2018), Postgraduate studies (2011-2014), and Undergraduate degree (2008-2011), all from Bursa Uludağ University in Animal Science. He also holds an Associate Degree in Food Processing (2006-2008) and another in Health Programs from Anadolu University (2013-2015).
Dr. Çelik's research primarily focuses on animal nutrition, particularly poultry science and feed technology. His work examines free-range farming systems, microalgae as alternative feed sources, incubation biology, and sustainable poultry production. He investigates how different farming systems affect animal welfare, growth performance, and product quality, with special attention to local Turkish poultry genotypes like Atak-S and Atabey.
His publication record shows a clear progression from foundational studies on incubation conditions and broiler performance to more recent innovative work on microalgae-based feed solutions and sustainable production systems. The research increasingly addresses environmental sustainability through waste gas utilization for microalgae cultivation and circular economy approaches in animal feed production.
Dr. Çelik actively serves as a thesis advisor for postgraduate students and participates in numerous university committees, including Rectorate Commissioner, Ethics Committee, and Unit Accreditation Board. His professional activities extend to peer reviewing for SCI-indexed journals and evaluating research projects for TÜBİTAK.
As a member of the World's Poultry Science Association and Hayvan Besleme Bilim Derneği (Animal Nutrition Science Association), he maintains active engagement with the international scientific community. His recent involvement in organizing the International Poultry Congress 2024 demonstrates his leadership in the field.
