Dr. Archie Thomas is a Chancellor's Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), based in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. His work focuses on Indigenous education, media justice, and queer studies, emphasizing policy impact and social justice. He holds a PhD and Master's from UTS and has held roles at ANU, Griffith University, and Macquarie University. Thomas has authored/co-authored books like Does the media fail Aboriginal political aspirations? and Yipirinya: the true school of Mparntwe, and has received awards including the Northern Territory Literary Award and UTS teaching awards.
His research spans Indigenous self-determination in education, media representation of marginalized groups, and historical exclusion of LGBTQ+ educators.
