Emma-Jaye Gavin

Professor Emma-Jaye Gavin is Garrwa Aboriginal scholar and inaugural Professor of Indigenous Truth-telling Research at Federation University's National Centre for Reconciliation, Truth, and Justice. Her innovative research employs film, media, and community engagement to advance decolonial methodologies.

Research explores truth-telling processes, Indigenous knowledge systems, and educational transformation through creative methodologies. Recent projects include ARC-funded work on empowering Aboriginal communities and developing decolonial pedagogies.

Publications demonstrate consistent focus on Indigenous storytelling as resistance and reclamation. She plays leadership roles in academic networks including the Alliance of Working Class Academics.
