Dr. Arash Nikoubashman serves as a Visiting Associate Professor at Keio University's Graduate School of Science and Technology and holds multiple research leadership roles at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. He is a Principal Investigator at the Mainz Institute of Multiscale Modeling (M³odel) and a Junior Faculty Member at the Max Planck Graduate Center, based within the Institute of Physics under the Faculty of Physics, Mathematics and Computer Science.
His research centers on Soft Matter Physics and Multiscale Modeling, with specialized focus on Computational Physics methodologies for bio-inspired materials design and complex fluid behavior. He investigates structure formation of soft matter at interfaces and controlled transport/assembly mechanisms using advanced simulation techniques to bridge theoretical models with practical material applications.
Dr. Nikoubashman has secured significant funding through the prestigious Heisenberg Fellowship for "In Silico - From Theoretical Models to Bio-Inspired Materials" and previously led the Emmy Noether Fellowship project on "Controlled Transport and Assembly of Soft Complex Matter". His work is further supported by the Research Training Group GRK 2516 and Collaborative Research Center SFB/TRR 146.
He maintains active collaboration within the Mainz Institute of Multiscale Modeling and was previously associated with the Graduate School of Excellence "MAterials science IN mainZ (MAINZ)". His research group develops computational frameworks to understand fundamental phenomena in soft matter systems for next-generation material science applications.
