Arantxa Carrasco Leon

Dr Arantxa Carrasco Leon serves as a Research Fellow at the Centre for Haemato-Oncology under the supervision of Dr Kevin Rouault-Pierre, focusing on high-risk familial cases of acute myeloid leukaemia (AML) and myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) within haematological research.

Her research program investigates germline mutations and their pathogenic mechanisms in AML/MDS development through in vitro and ex vivo modeling, with core interests spanning Haematology, Oncology, and Cancer Genetics. She integrates Cell Signalling and Gene Therapy approaches to address diagnostic and therapeutic challenges in blood malignancies, emphasizing translational applications for life-threatening haematological diseases.

As an integral member of the Centre for Haemato-Oncology research team, Dr Carrasco Leon contributes to collaborative efforts targeting genetic drivers of haematological malignancies, with potential implications for personalized treatment strategies in high-risk patient cohorts.
