Aranka Vivienne Ballering is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Groningen. She holds a visiting researcher position at Ghent University's Department of Sociology. Her research focuses on sex/gender differences in somatic symptom experiences, healthcare disparities, and stigma. Ballering completed her PhD (cum laude) on gender and sex differences in somatic symptom prevalence and interventions, and her postdoctoral work explores intergenerational social mechanisms of symptom proneness.
