Dr. Aram Sinnreich is a Professor and Graduate Director of Communication Studies at American University's School of Communication. His work bridges culture, law, and technology, focusing on surveillance, digital rights, intellectual property, and music.

His research explores digital media's cultural and legal implications, including remix practices, AI governance, and data privacy. Recent articles analyze the fediverse, generative AI, and the Secret Life of Data in algorithmic surveillance.
He is a core faculty member in AU's doctoral program and the MA in Media, Technology & Democracy, collaborating with graduate students on topics like Performative Media Policy and remix culture.
