Araceli de los Ríos Berjillos

Araceli de los Ríos Berjillos is a Full Professor in the Department of Business Management at Loyola University Andalusia's Faculty of Economics and Business Administration. She previously served as Director of the Department of Business Organization (2014-2016) and Vice Dean of the Faculty (2016-2020), and since September 2024 has coordinated the Doctoral Program in Inclusive and Sustainable Development. She leads the 'Social Matters' research group focused on the Third Sector, social impact measurement, and sustainability reporting.

Her research interests span business ethics, corporate social responsibility, sustainability reporting, ethical codes implementation, disability employment, and gender studies. Professor de los Ríos Berjillos has published over 60 works with 624 citations (h-index: 14), including nine first-level articles in Q1/Q2 journals. Her recent publications (2023-2025) demonstrate a strong focus on ethical culture implementation, disability inclusion, sustainable development education, and gender studies, reflecting her commitment to socially responsible business practices and sustainability.

She has received recognition including the best paper award in Corporate Social Responsibility at the 16th ASEPUC Meeting (2014). Her research has been supported through projects including the excellence project on CSR in Public Administration with Universities of Granada, Málaga, and Jaén, and the Cost Analysis of Spanish Municipalities project funded by FEMP. She is a founding member of GECAL (Group of Experts in Cost Management for Local Government).

Professor de los Ríos Berjillos teaches Fundamentals of Business Management, Introduction to Economics and Business, and Research Seminar on Social Responsibility and Sustainability. She has integrated Sustainable Development Goals into the curriculum from an Ignatian perspective, focusing on transforming student knowledge into concrete sustainable actions. Her lab, 'Social Matters,' maintains an active research agenda examining how organizations can better serve social needs while maintaining business viability.
