April Wynn

April Wynn is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Mary Washington. Her research examines genetic regulatory networks controlling seed formation in Arabidopsis thaliana, particularly how environmental stressors influence ovule development. She investigates genes analogous to Dr. Seuss characters involved in flower and seed development pathways.

Wynn teaches courses including Biological Concepts, Plant Physiology, Genetics, and research methodologies. With a PhD in Genetics from North Carolina State University and MS in Higher Education from Texas A&M, she integrates pedagogical expertise with plant molecular genetics research. Her academic background includes prior positions at St. Mary's College of Maryland.
