Apostolou Dimitrios

Apostolou Dimitrios is an Associate Professor at the Department of Informatics, University of Piraeus, and a member of the Decision Support Systems Laboratory. His expertise spans Intelligent Decision Support Systems, Team Support Systems, and Business Process Management. He holds a PhD from the National Technical University of Athens (Electrical and Computer Engineering), an MSc from University College London (Information Technology), and an MS from the New Jersey Institute of Technology (Chemical Engineering & Environmental Science).

He has extensive experience in IT research projects funded by the EU and national bodies, serving as a project manager for three projects. His publications include over 40 journal articles (e.g., Information Systems, IEEE Computational Intelligence) and 90 conference proceedings, plus a Springer-authored book. He actively reviews for journals like Decision Support Systems and participates in conference committees such as Business Information Management.

His teaching focuses on Decision Support Systems, and his office hours are: Winter semester (Fridays 10:00–14:00) and Spring semester (Tuesdays/Wednesdays 10:00–12:00).

He has consulted for public and private sectors, advising on IT system design and development. His lab, the Decision Support Systems Laboratory, drives collaborative research in his fields of interest.
