Anzhela Popyk

Anzhela Popyk is an Assistant Professor at SWPS University of Social Sciences and Humanities, affiliated with the Institute of Social Sciences and the Youth Research Center at the LAB Center. She specializes in the sociology of childhood and migration, focusing on the resocialization of migrant children in Poland through qualitative methodologies.

• Transnational transitions and belonging in migrant children
• Impact of forced home schooling during the pandemic
• Intergenerational communication in transnational families
• Civic engagement of Ukrainian refugee youth

Notable Projects: She leads the National Science Centre-funded CHILDTRAN project and co-leads an international initiative supporting Ukrainian refugees in the UK/Poland/Germany. Her publications analyze:

• Home space reconfiguration during lockdown
• Polish school adaptation from migrant children's perspectives
• Belonging theories at meso-level

Teaching: Courses in migration sociology, research ethics, critical reading, and qualitative methodology.
