Anya S. Evmenova is a Professor of Special Education at George Mason University's School of Education within the College of Education and Human Development. She holds dual roles as Associate Director of the Global Online Teacher Education Center and Associate Dean for Research in the Office of Research. She earned her PhD from George Mason University and specializes in assistive technology, Universal Design for Learning (UDL), and online teaching methodologies. Her research focuses on technology-based interventions to enhance academic access for students with diverse needs, particularly in writing and computer science instruction.
Dr. Evmenova has secured over $20 million in external grants, including projects like WEGO-MEGA (2023-current) and WEGO-RIITE (2018-2024), which develop technology tools for writing instruction. She has been recognized with awards such as the 2023 John Toups Medal for Excellence in Teaching and is actively involved in global initiatives, conducting workshops on inclusive education in countries like Kyrgyzstan and Saudi Arabia.
