Professor Anwar Baydoun is a distinguished academic at De Montfort University, serving as Professor of Pharmacology and Associate Dean for Research and Innovation in the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences. He is based in the Leicester School of Pharmacy and is a recognized expert in cardiovascular pharmacology and cell signalling.
His research expertise includes:
- Nitric oxide and cationic amino acid transporters
- Stem cell differentiation into cardiomyocytes
- Vascular calcification in kidney and cardiovascular diseases
- Development of in vitro models for drug screening
