معرفی
Dr Annie Taylor is a Lecturer in Biomedical Science at De Montfort University, affiliated with the School of Allied Health Sciences and the Leicester Institute of Pharmaceutical Innovation for Integrated Care (LIPIIC). She is a HCPC-registered biomedical scientist with a specialization in clinical biochemistry and a strong research focus on preclinical drug development for neglected tropical diseases.
Research Interests: Her work integrates synthetic chemistry, biological assay development, and computational methods to design novel drug candidates targeting diseases such as human African trypanosomiasis, Chagas disease, and leishmaniasis. She applies both ligand-based and structure-based drug design strategies, including bioactivity-guided SAR and in silico modeling. Her expertise also extends to sports science and science pedagogy, influencing her holistic approach to biomedical education.
The recent publications highlight a consistent research trajectory in medicinal chemistry, particularly in developing pyrimidine-based antitrypanosomal agents. These studies demonstrate expertise in synthetic organic chemistry, bioassay validation, and collaborative drug discovery with international teams.
