Anup Banerjee is an Assistant Professor and Doctoral Candidate at the Centre for Family Entrepreneurship and Ownership (CeFEO), Jönköping International Business School (JIBS), Sweden. His research focuses on corporate governance, board leadership, and the role of board chairs, particularly in family firms and hybrid organizations. He teaches leadership, entrepreneurship, and family business courses at both bachelor and master’s levels.
Education: MSc in Business Administration (JIBS, fully-funded by Swedish Institute), MBA and BBA in Marketing (University of Chittagong, Bangladesh).
Research interests include board governance in hybrid organizations, social impact measurement, leadership challenges in civil society, and women entrepreneurship in rural Bangladesh. His work employs engaged scholarship to bridge academic and practical insights.
Notable awards include the 'Global Swede Award' (2018) from the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the 'JIBS Rising Star Award' (2018) for academic excellence. He has contributed to board governance research through studies on family firms, purpose-driven organizations, and nonfamily leadership roles.
Leadership roles include Founding Chair of JU Doctoral Student Council and representative at JIBS Board of Doctoral Candidates. His research outputs span board strategy, hybrid governance models, and entrepreneurship in underserved regions.
