Anu Lahtinen is a Professor of Finnish and Nordic History at the University of Helsinki, affiliated with the Department of Philosophy, History and Art Studies within the Faculty of Arts. She serves as Editor-in-Chief of the Historiallinen Aikakauskirja (2016–2025) and chairs the Tilaushistoriakeskus board. Her research focuses on premodern Finnish and Nordic history, with emphasis on social, gender, and medieval studies. She leads projects like HISCOM (historical travel networks) and Think Forward (long-term crisis resilience). Awards include the 2021 Hyvä ohjaaja and Kronos ry teaching award. Active in academic governance, she holds roles in Helsinki’s History Committee and the EU’s CLIOHRES.net initiative. Education includes a PhD (2007) and docentships from Turku (2008) and Helsinki (2015).
