Demetrios Antzoulakos is an Associate Professor at the Department of Statistics and Insurance Science, University of Piraeus. He holds leadership roles as Head of the Department since January 2014 and Director of the MSc in Applied Statistics program. He has been affiliated with the University of Piraeus since 1998, progressing through Lecturer (1998-2000) to Assistant Professor (2000-2006) before his current role. His research focuses on distribution theory, run and pattern analysis, statistical quality control, and actuarial science applications.

- Ph.D. in Mathematics, University of Patras (1990)
- Diploma in Mathematics, University of Patras (1986)
Teaching: Undergraduate courses include Probability I/II and Life Insurance II. Postgraduate courses cover Data Analysis, Statistical Quality Control, Survival Analysis, and Life Contingencies.
Research Interests: Span distribution theory of runs, control charts, start-up demonstration tests, and Fibonacci polynomials. His work bridges theoretical probability with practical applications in risk theory and quality assurance.
Refereeing: Serves as a referee for journals like Journal of Applied Probability, Annals of the Institute of Statistical Mathematics, and IEEE Transactions on Reliability.
