Antonius van Maris

Antonius van Maris is a Professor of Biochemical Technology at KTH Royal Institute of Technology. His research focuses on industrial biotechnology as a sustainable alternative to fossil-based fuel and chemical production, aiming to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and oil dependency. He specializes in optimizing yeast-based biotechnological processes for improved economy, robustness, and flexibility, and explores the potential of Clostridium thermocellum for converting agricultural residues into fuels and chemicals.
