Adam Dobrowolski

Adam Dobrowolski is a Professor at the Institute of Biology, Faculty of Biology and Animal Science, Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences. His research focuses on metabolic engineering of yeast (particularly Yarrowia lipolytica) for production of high-value compounds like lipids, polyols, and organic acids from waste materials. Key research themes include lipid biosynthesis optimization, biodegradation of plastics, and utilization of agricultural/industrial residues for sustainable bioproduction.

His work integrates genetic engineering, microbial physiology, and bioprocess design.
