Antoniou Fabio

Fabio Antoniou is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Economics, Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB). His academic journey includes roles at the University of Ioannina and Humboldt University Berlin. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from AUEB (2009), an MSc from the University of Essex (2004), and a BA from the University of Athens (2003).

His research focuses on Applied Microeconomic Theory, Industrial Organization, and Environmental Economics. Key areas include tax competition, emission markets, and strategic environmental policy. Recent work examines pollution permits and financing costs, regulatory stringency, and storable goods market dynamics.

Antoniou has published in top journals like the International Economic Review, RAND Journal of Economics, and Environmental and Resource Economics. His 2017 paper on taxation and subsidies won the ERE Best Paper Award. He frequently reviews for journals such as the Canadian Journal of Economics and Journal of Environmental Economics and Management.
