Antonios Mikos

Antonios Mikos is a Professor at Rice University, affiliated with the Departments of Chemistry and Materials Science and NanoEngineering. A global pioneer in biomaterials, he integrates engineering and chemical/biological sciences for biomedical applications.

His work addresses orthopaedic, dental, cardiovascular, neurologic, and ophthalmologic challenges.

Selected publications highlight advancements in bone regeneration, gene delivery mechanisms, cartilage repair, perfusion culture, and thermoresponsive hydrogels. His 2019 Science Advances paper introduced modular cross-linkers for tissue engineering.
