Antonio Montefusco

Antonio Montefusco is an Associate Professor of Medieval and Humanistic Latin Literature at Ca' Foscari University of Venice, affiliated with the Department of Humanities. His research focuses on Franciscan movements, medieval intellectual history, and digital humanities. He leads the ERC-funded Bilingualism in Florentine and Tuscan Works project.

Education: PhD in Romance Philology (2008), Master's in Social Sciences (2011), and degrees in Diplomatics and Medieval Latin Literature.

Research interests include medieval communes, Dante's intellectual networks, and the intersection of religion and politics. He has published extensively on figures like Brunetto Latini, Marco Polo, and Iacopone da Todi.

Editorial roles: Co-editor of Linguistica e Letteratura, director of BIFLOW blog, and member of multiple editorial boards. Awards include the ERC Starting Grant and the Premio S. Francesco.
