Antonio Capuano

Antonio Capuano is a Senior Lecturer in Philosophy at Auburn University, where he offers instruction and mentorship in core philosophical disciplines. He maintains regular office hours on Wednesdays from 1:00–2:00 pm and Thursdays from 9:00–10:00 am in 3060 Haley Center, emphasizing accessibility to students.

Research Interests

Capuano’s scholarship is anchored in two principal areas:

• Philosophy of Language and Mind: Investigations into the nature of meaning, intentionality, and the relationship between linguistic structures and mental states.
• Metaphysics: Explorations of the fundamental nature of human beings and their place within the natural order, probing questions of personal identity and existence.

More recently, his work has expanded to encompass Rawls’s theory of justice and political philosophy, reflecting a growing engagement with normative questions concerning fairness, rights, and the structure of just societies.
