Professor Antonio Barletta is a Full Professor of Industrial Technical Physics at the University of Bologna's Department of Industrial Engineering since 2003. He holds a cum laude Physics degree from the University of Bologna (1987) and has been actively involved in academic and research roles since 1990. His career includes roles as Associate Professor (1997–2000) and Full Professor (2000–present).
He has coordinated doctoral programs in Energy, Nuclear, and Environmental Control Engineering (2008–present) and contributed to Mechanics and Advanced Engineering Sciences programs. His editorial roles include Associate Editorships at the ASME Journal of Heat Transfer, International Journal of Applied and Computational Mathematics, and ASME Open Journal of Engineering.
Research focuses on heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and porous media, reflected in his keynote lectures at international conferences and fellowships. Awards include recognition for editorial excellence and contributions to thermofluid dynamics.
He has organized events like the 14th UIT Summer School on Micro/Nano Scale Heat Transfer and served as a Visiting Professor/Scientist in Brazil and Switzerland. His academic leadership includes coordinating PhD programs and overseeing editorial boards.
